Decentralized Container Registry & Deployment Platform
Modern container registries and deployment platforms are largely centralized, requiring developers to place trust in a single authority for container ownership, integrity, and version history. This creates risks such as tampering, unclear ownership, vendor lock-in, and single points of failure. Existing security measures focus on scanning and access control, but fail to provide verifiable, trustless proof of ownership and authenticity for containerized applications—especially across teams and organizations.
ChainPort is a decentralized, Web3-native container registry that treats containers as verifiable digital assets. It records container ownership, version metadata, and integrity proofs on the blockchain, while storing container metadata and artifacts using decentralized storage (IPFS) to ensure immutability and transparency.
Through smart contracts, ChainPort enables trustless validation of containers, allowing users to verify authenticity and ownership without relying on a centralized registry. This approach reduces dependency on traditional platforms while supporting secure, scalable deployment workflows—making container distribution more transparent, resilient, and future-ready.
